Ears

I personally do not pluck the ear hairs as I believe it opens pores to infection, rather I keep ears well trimmed, inside & out, and cut the inner ear hair well back. 

Washing

I also don't find a need to wash weekly, instead I wash as needed. This can mean when the coat gets hard to comb, always remove all knots BEFORE washing and always use conditioner to suit the coat.

Washing is simple if you train your dog  and know how to dilute the right shampoo and conditioner. Pups come with simple driections as part of the owner manual.
